A ’pi79532’ egy az amerikai génbankokban örzött több 10.000 paradicsomfajta közül. Az egyik legrégebbi gyűjtések közül származik (jelenleg már 7 számjegynél tartanak). 1920-as évek elején peruban gyűjtötté és a vad Lycopersicon pimpinellifolium.
Indeterminált, extrém méretű, magassága 4-6 méter, masszív felhőt alkot, kaccsazni gyakorlatilag lehetetlen. Toleráns a mozaikvirusokkal és gombabetegségekre szinte teljesen rezisztens.
A termései kicsi 1-2 grammosak, kemények, nagyon sokat terem, ezres nagyságrendben. Az íze enyhén édes, inkább savanyú.
The ‘pi79532’ tomato is one of the tens of thousands of tomato accessions preserved in American gene banks. It comes from one of the oldest collections (currently accession numbers have reached seven digits). It was collected in Peru in the early 1920s and is a wild Lycopersicon pimpinellifolium.
It is an indeterminate, extremely large plant, growing 4–6 meters tall, forming a massive cloud-like structure, making staking practically impossible. It is tolerant of mosaic viruses and almost completely resistant to fungal diseases.
The fruits are tiny, 1–2 grams each, firm, and produced in extremely high quantities, numbering in the thousands. The flavor is mildly sweet, leaning more toward acidic.
