A ‘New Year Cherry’ egy különleges hosszan tárolható fajta. A termések nagyon nehezen és hosszasan érnek be, emellett egyszerre érik pár hét alatt szinte minden termés. Májusi ültetéssel a mai napon kezdődött az alsó 3-4 fürt érése, amit érdemes betárolni.
Érdekessége, hogy multiflora, így akár 200 termést is hozhat egy fürtön (nagyon jól köt).
A termések 30 gramm körüliek, nem repednek ésnehezen érnek be. Az íze semleges, túlérve enyhén édes, gyümölcsös.
Indeterminált, nagyon erős növekedésű fajta.
‘New Year Cherry’ is a special long-storage variety. The fruits ripen very slowly and with difficulty, but when they do, nearly all ripen within a few weeks. With a May planting, the ripening of the lower 3–4 clusters begins around this time, and it is advisable to store them.
An interesting feature is that it is a multiflora type, producing as many as 200 fruits per cluster (with excellent fruit set).
The fruits weigh around 30 grams, do not crack, and ripen slowly. The flavor is neutral, becoming mildly sweet and fruity when overripe.
It is an indeterminate variety with very vigorous growth.
