Dwarf Mocha’s Cherry Long

A Dwarf Tomato Project „Anthy” családját akkor hozta létre Craig LeHoullier, amikor egy magas antocián-tartalmú, indeterminát növekedésű rózsaszín koktélparadicsomot – amelyet Marcia Dillon osztott meg, Tom Wagner instabil anyagából – keresztbe porozta a Dwarf Saucy Mary fajtával.

Craig 2017-ben néhány törpe szelekciót hozott létre lila termésekkel és jellegzetes fekete-lila vállrésszel. A 2018-as legjobb szelekció a „Dwarf Mocha’s Cherry” nevet kapta.
A fajtát Chan Mortimer tovább stabilizálta, majd 2022-ben a Victory Seed Company vezette be a piacra.

Ez a 40-50 cm magas nagyon sötét lombozatú fajta, nagyon sokat tud teremni és cserépben is jól teljesít.
Ami negatívum számomra, hogy az ízében nincs sok fantázia, kicsit vizesebb erős paradicsom íze van, 4-es brix értékkel. A húsa nagyon tömör, a súlya 40-60 gramm.

The Dwarf Tomato Project’s “Anthy” line was created by Craig LeHoullier when he crossed a tall, indeterminate, high-anthocyanin pink cocktail tomato—shared by Marcia Dillon from Tom Wagner’s unstable material—with the Dwarf Saucy Mary variety.

In 2017, Craig made a few dwarf selections with purple fruits and characteristic black-purple shoulders. The best 2018 selection was named “Dwarf Mocha’s Cherry.”

The variety was further stabilized by Chan Mortimer and introduced to the market in 2022 by Victory Seed Company.

From this line, a long-fruited variant somehow emerged: ‘Dwarf Mocha’s Cherry Long’. This 40–50 cm tall variety has very dark foliage, is highly productive, and performs well in pots.

The downside for me is that the flavor is not very exciting, with a slightly watery, strong tomato taste and a brix of around 4. The flesh is very dense, and the fruits weigh 40–60 grams.
