A Bronner’s Wild paradicsommal a deaflora nevű német oldalon találkoztam először, akkor nem tartottam különlegesnek, így csak tavaly került hozzám másodkézből.
Ez a fajta egy vadparadicsom (genetikailag interspecifikus mix, hiszen az antocianinos héj a L. chiliense fajból ered, de ezt csak a chiliense X esculentum fajhibrid lvén rakható össze az L. pimpinellifoliummal, így gyakorlatilg 3 fajból gyúródott össze). Én legalábbis a morfológiai bélyegei alapján annak tartom.
Indeterminált növekedésű, igazi óriás, nagyjából 3 méter széles és 4 méter magas lett. Nagyon-nagyon sok kicsi 2-3 grammos feket gyöngyöt terem, ugyanis a minimális fényre is teljesen antociános lesz a héja.
Az íze vadas, savanykás, csak miniális édességgel, a textúrája viszont roppanós és a termések a nyelvet is befogják!
I first came across Bronner’s Wild tomato on the German site deaflora. At the time, I didn’t consider it particularly special, so it only reached me second-hand last year.
This variety is essentially a wild tomato (genetically an interspecific mix, since its anthocyanin-rich skin comes from L. chiliense, but this can only be combined with L. pimpinellifolium through a chiliense × esculentum hybrid—so in practice, it is a fusion of three species). At least based on its morphological traits, that’s how I classify it.
It is indeterminate and truly gigantic, growing about 3 meters wide and 4 meters tall. It produces a massive number of tiny 2–3 gram black “pearls,” since the skin turns fully anthocyanin-colored even under minimal light.
The flavor is wild and tangy, with only slight sweetness, but the texture is crisp—and the fruits will even stain your tongue!
