A Black Kumquat egy régi hibrid fajta egyik szelektált verziója (indigo kumquat, indigo pear drops, ezek mind innen vannak).
A fajta féldeterminált, magassága 120cm, fürtjei bogosak, elágazóak. A termései nem olyan kicsik, mint sok képen, hanem 40-50 grammosak, 2-3cm szélesek, jó tömörek.
Az íze nem túl erős, elég semleges, cserébe a termések nagyon szépek!
The Black Kumquat is a selected version of an old hybrid variety (from which also come Indigo Kumquat, Indigo Pear Drops, and others).
The variety is semi-determinate, reaching about 120 cm in height, with compound, branched clusters. The fruits are not as small as often shown in pictures, but weigh 40–50 grams, are 2–3 cm wide, and nicely firm.
Its flavor is not very strong, rather neutral, but in return the fruits are very attractive!
